With cool fall days comes the need to clean up the yard and start preparing for winter. In our yard, we have twigs and branches to pick up, leaves to rake, and garden beds to clear out. Unfortunately, last week’s East Coast deluge quickly put a halt to any outdoor clean up activities. Thankfully, we put our new Newell Rubbermaid® Roughneck™ Trash Can to good use cleaning up our basement of tons of kids toys and trying to get a head start on making room for all of the Christmas gifts that we know they’ll get this year.
One of the biggest problems with last week’s rain was that the kids were stuck inside for several days. There is a line between keeping kids happy and active and keeping yourself productive. By thinking of our Roughneck™ Trash Can as a basketball hoop, it was easy to get the kids to clean up balls and pick through their bulky stuffed animals, old games, larger toys that they don’t play with, and even their dozens of blankets so that they could have more space for their presents.
The wide base, inline skate wheels, and over-sized handle make the Roughneck™ Trash Can easy to maneuver and perfect for moving up and down the stairs as we help to clean up their space and at 32 gallons it can hold plenty.
Once the rains are over, you know that there will be a little extra yard work to take care of, so I love that, once we empty all of the kids’ stuff out of it, our Roughneck™ Trash Can can easily head outdoors and take care of a completely different job.
