What happens when you forget to move the elf? You panic. You go for an easy spot. Then you step back later to snap the picture and realize what you did.
Keep running the race that is set before you with endurance. – Hebrews 12:1
This is Brian’s race metal rack that hangs on his side of the bed. I bought it for him several Christmas’ ago when he was running more. He decided to take time to get his back feeling better but is thinking it is about time to get back to running. You can see he has added a few other items to the pegs … his Infantry rope, conference badges, and even a medal made by the kids. I love how it isn’t just about the actual sport of running anymore but more about the running we do in life.
We often hear that life is the race but we can make it smaller … the holiday season is often a race. Heck, our elf experience is a race for us as we struggle through it. Even though we are horrible at this elf game, the joy that the kids have in finding their elf is priceless. The race is about the experience not just the end, right?
We try to remember this even if the kids yell and stomp and get horribly mad at each other if one of them finds it before the others … oh wait, THAT happens EVERY morning. ugh. It is priceless … endure for the greater good.
