OK I gave up on the real fruit after yesterday when I put our dear Elf on the Shelf, Kingston, in rotten fruit. You missed that? Yeah that was an “epic fail” as my sister put it. Hush it sis, you are the reason we deal we this Elf on the Shelf game! Oh and Kingston will not get a bath. Why? Because then I will have to go buy another one and I refuse to buy unless it is for you dear little sister that is about to her first kiddo. Watch out. It will be your turn soon!
So I went safe and put Kingston in the apple wreath. I love this wreath. It was my DIY version of a Pottery Barn wreath that was over $100. That was out of the budget then as much as it was out the budget now! I date stuff by my kids. Do you do that? This was a pre-kids craft so that means the apple wreath is at least 7 years old as Grace is now 7 years old. The apples fall off sometimes but I just glue them back on … well I will until the kids declare this wreath to be hideous and I finally have to give it up as my fall indoor wreath.
So while I was so excited that Kingston wasn’t sitting in rotten fruit today, I quickly realized that this wreath shouldn’t still be up. The Christmas Card holder should be here. Yeah this one where Kingston sat last year.
So I get to point out the parenting fail that we STILL don’t have Christmas decorations up. We were supposed to go buy a tree last night but the shop closed early and I got home late. oh well. Tonight. Maybe by Friday or Saturday’s Elf on the Shelf post you will see we have more than poinsettias!
