As part of a sponsored post for Collective Bias®, I chatted with a pharmacist on Answers at Walgreens for a pain relief medication recommendation and shopped at our local Walgreens store.
When asked about an on-going pain issue, my first thought was the occasional migraines I get. Any other aches and pains I deal with a few Tylenol to be honest. In my early 20s, I had really bad migraines and had prescription medication for them. With each kid, the migraines actually lessened. I have no idea HOW that happened but I was happy to not be in as much pain. Since I had a number of years where I was either pregnant or nursing, I stopped using the prescription migraine medication. I have pretty much coasted by since then. Lately, I have had a few migraines though that left me craving a quiet, dark room, a cold pack, and migraine medication. Seeing how the only time the rooms are dark is at night and that is about the only time it is quiet around here too, I knew I needed to find a new plan for treating these occasional migraines. I wasn’t real sure where to find an over the counter treatment plan though.
I was excited to head over to Answers at Walgreens on Walgreens.com for answers. It was easy to log into the site using my Balance Rewards account!
There was also a great FAQ Section on Answers at Walgreens that provided details on what information I could gain through the chat sessions!
I didn’t have to wait to chat with a pharmacist which is perfect for our busy schedule! I was able to ask for a recommendation for an over-the-counter migraine medication for pain relief.
You can see I even asked for a second recommendation if I wanted a caffeine-free medication. I decided to give Excedrin Migraine a try as it has been years since I have tried it. I was excited to see it was on sale in the ad for buy one, get one 50% off! When we got the store, I saw that the 100 count was on sale with Balance Rewards points for added savings!
Brian and I went to Walgreens sans kids which is rare for us so he got to see my Walgreens shopping and savings approach in action. I cut out a bunch of coupons from the back to school part of the ad so we could stock up some items the teachers ask for part way through the school year (hello, dry erase markers and paper!) I add some other items in the buggy too to drop off at the community back to school supply drive to help low income kids in our area. Check out our full shopping experience in the Google + Album!
I am excited to say that the Excedrin Migraine has been working for me since I picked it up at Walgreens. I have thankfully only had to use the Excedrin Migraine a few times but it really saved the day those few days. With back to school time happening and our schedule becoming busier and more stressful, it is great to have a migraine treatment plan worked out!

I had never had a migraine until I got pregnant and since then I’ve only had one other. I have a prescription for migraine medication but the pills are expensive, so I think I might go with the over the counter option next time one comes on!
