After a long day at work, how do you decompress? Do you collapse in front of the TV? Maybe you cook a nice meal? What about bouncing on the bed with the kids?
Well, for me, most of my day is spent with the TV going. I can’t tell you how much Dora or Mike the Knight or Fresh Beat Band I watch throughout the day. I love to cook, but breakfast, lunch, and dinner start becoming more utility meals when they have to be on the table by a certain time. Bouncing on the bed with the kids is almost a nightly thing, but it’s more about playing with them and tiring them out before bedtime. These activities are my life; they are not how I escape for a bit.
To escape, I love to enter the gaming world. I don’t get to do it as often as I’d like, but a great game really lets you lose track of time and enter into another world entirely. I especially love RPG’s like Assassin’s Creed 3 and The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim or even racing games. They let me live vicariously through another individual. I can sneak around in ways that would be deemed inappropriate in normal society. I get to be an important part of history, fight with dragons, and drive cars that I have no hope of setting foot in in real life.
That’s why I’m pretty excited about Far Cry 3. This game is about a vacation gone horribly wrong. You wind up on an island with family and friends only to find the island run by pirates who capture the entire group. Your job is to rescue them, but you find yourself hunting on the island and being taken in by various tribes of people. You get into firefights with all kinds of weapons. Would you ever dream of this happening to you in real life? NO WAY! But the fantasy of being the hero if it did is what gives you the real escape. Toss in the fantastic graphics and open world concept and I am just hooked!

the next game that i want is pes 2013. i love soccer and i have heard good things about that game. dont get me wrong far cry is a great series, but i prefer sports games.
