Friday Favorites is another almost weekly feature here at Simply Budgeted. The whole point of this feature is to share some of our favorite finds. Anything is game. Food. Cleaning supplies. Kid stuff. Garden favorites. Recipes. Anything that I really like and want to randomly post about. Reminder/Disclaimer/Whatever: Everything in Friday Favorites is something that we use and bought on our own.
Zoo Pals
I seriously can’t believe this is my Friday Favorite this week. Last week, I hated Zoo Pals. OK, I didn’t hate the product, I was annoyed that my almost five year old walked around saying “Zoo Pals make eating fun” <- a quote from one of their commercials. Yes, my almost 5 year old was a walking Zoo Pals commercial. It annoyed me probably mostly because we had never even bought them. Then this week happened.
We are at the beach this week. We went to Walmart when we got here on Sunday. I wanted to get paper plates to have for when I didn’t want to do dishes (it is vacation you know!) As I grabbed these, I saw the Zoo Pals. I was in a moment of weakness or a moment of mommy wanting to suck up or a moment of just not thinking … I handed a package to Grace, my walking Zoo Pal’s commercial. She went nuts. I then saw the bowls and cups they offer too. To continue my mommy suck up mission, I grabbed those too … $6 for sucking up to my kids. Yes, I admit I did that. They loved me that moment and every moment this week that they have had a ladybug cup, a piggy bowl, or a horse plate … and I love it. These won’t be every day items in our house but I was excited to see their reasonable price at Walmart. (Walmart’s price was way cheaper than the price at Harris Teeter as a note to those who want a deal!) Now that I checked out their website, I wonder why Walmart didn’t have the utensils because those are so super cute!
If you need a frugal birthday idea … go for these cups, plates, and bowls. They are cheaper than birthday ones and the kids will love getting the animals. Or if you head to the beach and want to suck up to your kids for working too much every other week … they are great for that too. I know that from experience. 😉

My kids LOVE Zoo Pal plates! We don’t buy them a lot since we have 6 kids in the daycare and go through them quickly. But, the kids are so excited when we do get them!

Zoo Pals are so much fun. My boys are a bit to old for them but my neice and nephew would love these.
