Friday Favorites is another almost weekly feature here at Simply Living on a Budget. The whole point of this feature is to share some of my favorite finds. Anything is game. Food. Cleaning supplies. Kid stuff. Garden favorites. Recipes. Anything that I really like and want to randomly post about. Everything in Friday Favorites is something that I use and bought on my own.

Half.com is part of ebay. You use your ebay ID which is really great. You can sell anything with an ISBN … so books, DVDs, CDs, etc. You set the price you want. You will get that price MINUS a commission PLUS a set shipping price. Since you don’t have to take pictures or manage an auction, it is a pretty good deal for a seller. For a buyer, the prices are set CHEAP because people want their stuff to move. You pay the super cheap price plus shipping. You do get a shipping discount if you buy more than one item from someone which can make for even nicer deals! More questions? Check out half.com HELP for information!
My thoughts …
I started using half.com when I wanted books for my kids but didn’t want to pay the bookstore prices for them. A book for 75 cents plus shipping was a fraction of the Amazon or Barnes and Noble cost. We often find books at the library that the kids LOVE. If there is one that they just love, I often head over to half.com and buy it for their collection. Little Apple Goat is one my girls love. It is a completely pointless book but they love it. I got it brand new on half.com for a great price. One thing to keep in mind is the inventory at half.com is ALWAYS changing so you might find a great deal or you might not.
Oh and as for selling, I do that too. When we cleaned out our office over Christmas break, we found A LOT of books we didn’t need to keep. We still have a pile that haven’t sold but we have sold a lot of books and DVDs on half.com. The few extra bucks is better than a book collecting dust for sure. We won’t make much doing this but the months we get paid, we generally get enough to take everyone to a cheap dinner out which is a nice treat for us!

Great tip, even though I sell stuff on Ebay, I have not heard of Half.com!! Thanks for the info on books, my daughter loves Caillou, but the books are hard to come by. I also live on a budget and just wrote an article on how to make Easter centerpieces for just 5 bucks!
