It is Mamavation Monday time again!Last week was a schedule challenge for me. If you have managed to figure out my schedule, you are better than I am because I have a hard time myself. I am mostly working at home these days because I can. This lets me help watch our kids while preschool is in session (DH teaches preschool from our basement and each day at least one of girls is in the class.) This is helping us make our budget work right now. It also means I don’t really have a good routine and last week was even harder since we had two field trip days and we all went both days. The good news is that I got my 100 minutes of cardio time for #commit2fit in those two days alone. Hiking up and down a mountain to pick apples with babywearing 25 lb Little Dude is a work out I won’t soon forget! My girls learned to say “oh my” because I kept saying that instead of other thoughts that kept popping in my mind! Hey, at least I self censored!
All that being said, I didn’t get on my balance ball last week. I missed it. So the plan is at least three times this week do those workouts. I say three because I am on travel two days this week.
Do you ever find new motivations in your life? Well now I have two new motivators to do my balance ball workouts and I am going to see how far they take me.
1) I was really surprised at the comments I got about the balance ball workouts last week so hopefully I can become your “balance ball girl”. If you have questions, ask me. I may not be able to answer them but I can try!
2) My hip. My hip has bothered my since I was pregnant with Matthew. They told me it was stretching. I think it did more than stretch though because now I have an almost 15 month old and still bothers me if I lay on it. The balance ball workouts allow me to stretch in ways I can’t on my own. In thinking about it, I know this could help my hip. It may not solve the problem but maybe I wake up without the extreme pregnancy pain if I accidentally roll over at night and sleep on it for a bit because that is all I really want.
All that being said, I didn’t lose or gain anything last week. My cardio time was wiped out by the apple donuts the orchard is famous for making. Darn them if the whole area didn’t smell like those donuts too because they were cooking them as fast as they can! Now the donuts are gone so here is to another week.
Oh and I am still interested in healthy dinner ideas … meat, vegetarian, vegan, whatever recipes! I am going to start featuring recipes more here so if you send one along, I will provide credit back to you!=)

That sounds like an awesome workout to me! I know when I carry my 17 pound boy around in the carrier, I feel it later! That's great that you got to do that and go apple picking! Sounds like a great outing!
Good luck with routine. As someone who is really struggling with that, I know what you're going through.

25 pounds!! Wow!! So your hip. Have you been to physical therapy for it? Seems like something you shouldn't have to live the rest of your life with if you can help it. I also wonder if getting the muscles around the hip stronger would help.
Awesome on the commit to fit! no gain is good too!

I am a big girl lifter…but will be adding the baby wearing in in a couple months…ugh I know my back is not looking forward to it! You make me nervous too with you still having hip pains. I am not sleeping well because my hip starts bothering me if I sleep on one side too long. That must really stink that it still hurts you!!! Hope you get in lots of balance ball workouts this week!

Thats crazy to hear about your hip! I have hip problems too but not from having a baby… actually its from having once been a baby… Apparently I never turned around and so my hips did not grow right and I had to wear a brace for the first 8 months of my life! And now if I get low on potassium I get charley horses in my HIPS! OMG nothing has hurt me as badly in my life!
I really hope those ball stretches youre doing are helping you! i think thats great!
Hope this week goes awesome for ya!
