Do you shop at your local thrift shops? If not, you are probably missing out! I already did a piece about my children’s consignment sale addiction. I do love them. I did miss out on a few recently but I don’t feel like I lost out. Why is that? The local thrift shops are a gold mine!
The pros:
There are two thrift shops in the area that price all clothing the same ($1 or 50 cents) an item. This means those Gymboree capris are only 50 cents!
You are generally supporting a charity or non-profit organization through your purchases. I don’t have a problem rounding my purchase price up knowing the organization it is going towards.
More than children’s items are at thrift shops. Look in your size too!
The cons:
The selection is limited to what is there that day. I can do a full season of shopping at one day of a consignment sale but this won’t happen in one trip to a thrift shop unless you hit a jackpot stash that someone dropped off.
The quality of the clothing can be hit or miss so be sure to check what you are buying. At the same time, know how good your stain treatment regimen is because if you are like me, that stain will come out nine times out of ten!;)

Here is the full pile … all for $15!
Clothes for the kids. I am stocking up on bigger sizes. The blue capris in the middle are the Gymboree ones!;
Clothes for ME! I decided to give myself some motivation to get the next size down in clothing. Surprisingly most of this fits already. Oh and the denim skirt is a Calvin Klein skirt!;)

OMG I am a thrift Queen! We have quite a few thrift stores around me, as well as great consignments stores like once upon a child, where I worked when preggo with baby #1, wow, did I make out on clothes and equipment!
I have 3 Goodwills near me and LOVE that they get stuff from our local Target stores, so I always make out on new stuff!! They have days where the Target clothes are $1!! I got almost all my maternity clothes this way! $1 Liz Lange jeans and tops, can't beat that!!
Found 5 Jack and Janie boutique outfits for my friends baby for like 2-3 bucks each.
I am so thrifty that I won;t buy from our Salvation army unless it is a 50% off family day 🙂
I am a bit obsessed but proud of my awesome deals.
I just had a baby so kinda itching to go thrifting as soon as possible!

I don't know of any thrift stores in the area, although I'm sure there are lots 🙂 I love consignment sales though. My tip would be to look over everything before you buy it and know what you need before going!

I like to hit garage sales on Saturday mornings. If I come upon one that has baby clothes, they often have LOTS of baby clothes, so its a good way to get a whole lot at once.
But, they are also very hit or miss!

I LOVE the thrift stores! We have a few good ones close-by. I was able to go to one of the thrift stores when all of their shorts, skirts and capris were only 25 cents! Can't beat that!
