It is Mamavation Monday time again!I am impressed that folks are still commenting on the Two Week No Soda Challenge so I will once again leave that reference you here! I finished my challenge and have decided to set a one soda a week limit for myself. This past week, I had half a soda. I even resisted my beloved Cherry Coke from Sam’s Club on Friday evening.;)
What did I do last week? I kept up my water drinking and added my work outs. My goal was to use my elliptical 3-5 times last week. I proud say I did five twenty minute sessions. I know twenty minutes isn’t super long but it was a good starting point for my inactive butt. I was excited to hit the higher end of my goal too!
My challenge this week: The stare down challenge started last week and I took it on. I lived up to it too. So now I am increasing my time on Squeaky (my elliptical has a name, doesn’t yours?) My goal is five thirty minute sessions with Squeaky this week. I already got in today’s session so I am pleased with that. I hit a wall at twenty minutes but pushed through and felt good when I hit thirty minutes. I can do this. Small increases in time are the best way for me to build up to what I want to do and I can see myself on the path to that goal!
Results so far: I am down 1 lb since last Monday. (Weigh ins for the work challenge are Mondays so I weigh in then.) I felt slightly defeated by the scale after adding my work outs this week. My husband kindly reminded me that a slow weight loss like this is maintainable and that is good. So I picked my chin up and was happy to see the scale move down!
Thanks to everyone for their support so far. More coming from me as I work towards this goal!

O, you said the magic word "cherry coke"!! That is my all time fav. I don't want to completely wipe soda out but I do need to figure a plan out. Kudos to your husband! It seems that he is keeping you on track and challenging you, awesome!! You're doing terrific! Like he said, it will easily be maintained when you loose it slowly, You rock!!

Don't discount the amount of time you spent on your elliptical by comparing it to others. You did the five you set out to do. That is an accomplishment to be proud of. Your workout length will increase. Have a great week.

I agree with Kia – the time you spend is the time you spend, and every single minute is a good one for you, your health, your future, and your family.

Busting my rump over here on the treadmill, also at thirty minutes now, but I have to push myself. Like you said though, I feel good when I reach the time. No name yet for my treadmill, but I think I'll consider it while I run…which is where I am going right now. Thank you for the morning motivation. Cheers to you and your progress!!!

20 minutes is a great start to build your endurance. Increase little at a time….do 5 minute increments when you feel comfortable.
Great job on dropping a pound!
Reading your twitter updates, I always wondered who squeaky was…now I know. hehe

20 min is a lot if you're not used to doing it! You're not going to start off doing an hr (unless you're super woman…are you?) Keep up the good work! You're doing great!
