Soda … Pop … Coke … whatever you want to call it, it is all the same thing. Heck, I grew up calling it Soda-pop. I was a confused child who had Yankee parents but learned to talk in the South!
Today, my husband kindly issued me a no soda for two weeks challenge. He asked if I could do it. I said sure before I could really think about it. My soda drinking is a lot less than it used to be. If A soda a day is my norm. Some days I do go nuts and I will have several before I know it. It is worse when I am out and about and not at home or work for sure.
At any rate, the no soda for two week challenge at our house starts tomorrow, Sunday, January 3rd. It will end the morning of Monday, January 18th.
Now tea, coffee, other what-ever drinks are still OK but I would say energy drinks are out (not that we drink those). Trust me if I was offered a no hot tea in the morning challenge, I would instantly say “NO WAY”. But I can do this. I will post about it here every few days and I will probably celebrate enjoying my Coke (a Coca-Cola regular Coke) at the end of this right here.
Since is is a new year, I decided to share this hear and see if anyone else is game. Wanna join in? Can you make it two weeks without a soda?
Leave me a comment here if you want to join in on this impromptu challenge. If there is no way you can even think about joining in, leave a comment telling me that! With all of these new followers, I know at least a few of you must be willing to join me in my misery … umm, success in proving to my husband that I can do this!:)
Tweet with me about this if you. I will start the hashtag #2wknosodachallenge so use it as you want the next two weeks and lets see where this takes us. Go enjoy your last soda and get ready for tomorrow …

I had to comment- i would love to try with you but I am not sure I could do it… I tweeted to ya about using the Sodastream… LOL
The carbonation is what I am addicted to- if that is a big part of your addiction I think you can do it!

I'm with you! I made an exception for today, but I'm done with pop for good. I'm so much healthier without it.
After two weeks without it, you aren't going to love it like you do now. You may end up stopping the habit all together. Good luck!

I can't do it! 11 month old with wicked reflux means no sleep and I am a working mommy!

I'm in! I have done this before and found that I felt so much better and actually had more energy once I got used to it. Good luck!

my husband and I started this no soda challenge on the 2nd of January and plan to make it a habit. Other than the occasional soda that may come around at a birthday party after our full month of no soda would be acceptable to us. Good Luck and Enjoy all of the other wonderful beverages out there 🙂

Great post!! I've now been without diet dr pepper and diet coke (my soda-drugs of choice) for more than three weeks and am not going back!
No one can argue that they're just not good for you.
