What is your Black Friday plan of attack this year?
Are you even shopping this year on Black Friday? I find that people either LOVE to shop on Black Friday for the deals or avoid it all costs. What group are you in?
This year, I think we are avoiding but I want to pass along a few tips as you get ready to shop.
First things first … what is your budget? Before you even look at the sale ads, figure out your budget for each person on your list. THEN you can go start drooling over the sale ads.
The next important thing is to prioritize and plan your day out. If there is a big ticket item, consider getting that first so you actually get it. Some stores like Walmart and Best Buy will have a certain number of big items. In the past, Best Buy has handed out tickets to those waiting in line. This means you have to be in line EARLY. ugh. Pre-kids (isn’t funny how life is pre-kids and post-kids, after you have kids?) my husband and I went out and waited in the freezing cold line for a computer. It was worth the cold and the wait but we barely got a ticket. So go early and dress warm!
On top of all that, do some research. If you are truly going out bargain shopping on Black Friday then spend some time on Thanksgiving researching prices. Make sure that “sale” or “lowest price of the year” is actually worth the trip out. We saw a big sale last week that seemed really great but then we will looked it up it was the same price as other stores. Hardly a big sale in my book, ya know?
My BIG TIP for Black Friday isn’t a sale or big discount it is to pack some drinks, snacks, and maybe even your lunch and bring it with you!! While you are shopping it is easy to get sucked into grabbing a drink at the register or stopping for lunch. Those side trips add up so take drinks and food out with you and then you can buy yourself a gift too! 😉
So what stores are on your Black Friday list? Have you found a Black Friday deal worth sharing? Leave me a comment and let me know.
