I recently had the opportunity to review the On the Fly bottle warmer thanks to The Product Review Place and On the Fly.
I want to start off why I reviewed this product. As a breastfeeding mom, I am not always around my baby. Yet, breastfed babies desire (and often demand) to have warm milk. They are used to milk being at body temperature. Warmed milk is best for babies because it is processed better in their digestive track. All that being said, it can be hard to warm a bottle on the go. It isn’t normally possible to get to a sink with warm water to warm it. I tried a car warmer at one point found that to be not practical most of the time. So when I heard about On the Fly bottle warmers, I wanted to give them a try. Anything that can help moms keep on the breastfeeding path as long as possible is a budget saving find in my opinion.
I received a Large Starter kit. This kit is made for bottles 8-11 ounces. We are using Born Free bottles so this kit fit those bottles the best. (There is also a Small Starter Kit for 4 ounce bottles.) The kit came nicely packaged with the instructions, the cow print sock, and five warmers.
Here is a blurb from the On the Fly website about what is in the Large Starter Kit:
On The Fly™ Starter Kit includes a large bottle sock to be utilized with wide
bottles from 8 to 11 oz. and 5 large individually wrapped disposable bottle
warmers. Each warmer provides up to 8 hours continuous heat. The bottle sock is made with all natural ingredients. 95% cotton and 5% spandex. Washable in cold water. The warmer is all natural made of iron powder, water, activated carbon, wood, powder and salt. The heat is air activated when removed from packaging and will maintain its warmth and heat bottles for up to 8
hours.Product can be used with wide mouth bottles by Avent, GentleFlow from
Gerber, Born Free™ and Dr. Brown’s. Not intended for use with Playtex
liners.
Since I am not the primary source of bottle feeding in our house, my husband was excited to see this product. He is often on the go with our kids with a bottle in tow so anything to help warm bottles is an added bonus for him!
The bottle warmer was actually first used by my mom though. Grandma (gra-ma as the kids say) had a full day of bottle feeding recently and gave this a try. I was able to explain to her how to use in just a few minutes. In my error, I forgot to tell her that it does take 15-20 minutes to warm up. So that is something to keep in mind. It didn’t help that “little dude” woke up early from his morning nap, she did resort to warm water bottle warm up since he was demanding a bottle right then. For the next feeding the warmer was in prime condition though. She said it worked great. She noted she got worried it might be too warm so she checked the milk for her own comfort and found it be at a very good temperature. “Little dude” got going on one bottle for her when she had the warmer on and drank 4 ounces all at once. She said she didn’t realize he had that much because she couldn’t see the bottle. He apparently had a good latch and was very happy with milk temperature to keep at it so it was all good. The warmer was warm for over 8 hours! For us, that means we can warm up several bottles with the same warmer which is even better for being on the go!
Overall, we are very pleased with the On the Fly bottle warmer product. I would have to say their slogan, “A Simply Chic Bottle Warmer“, is very appropriate. Who wouldn’t think a cow print bottle sleeve isn’t chic?!
So for us, this is already packed in the diaper bag for when it is needed while out of the house. I would definitely recommend it to any breastfeeding mom who’s baby is on the go and has that need for a nice warm bottle when you aren’t around! The On the Fly Small Starter Kit is only $30 and the On the Fly Large Starter Kit is $35. Both a great value for the extended usage of the warmers!
If this sounds like a product you would use, if you have a response to this review, or are hoping to see this as a giveaway at some point, let me know by leaving me a comment!

I love this idea! I nurse my DD but give my hubby the afternoon feeding to he can have time to "bond" while I have time to cook dinner – this'd be a great thing to have on hand!

Great review. I wish I had this when I was still breastfeeding my son. He drinks bottles now (milk) but thankfully he doesn't need them warmed up. I think new moms would really appreciate this.
The name/url thing works perfect btw! Thank-you 🙂
