Have you been hitting up the end of summer deals? I admit I haven’t but we aren’t in need of much right now. I do want to share some of my favorite end of summer deals as my budget saving tip though!
My all time favorite end of summer bargain is coolers. Why? Coolers rarely go on sale and we all need them. We have a personal collection that contains all different sizes (and colors, not that it matters but they are!) I bought my first cooler at CVS during their end of summer sale years ago. Yes, it is still part of the collection! It was such a bargain that I still remember this odd fact but I can’t remember what I wore yesterday. Ok back on topic … you can find coolers for 75 – 90% off if you hit the stores on the right days. CVS, a drug store chain in Virginia, is one of my favorite spots for end of summer sales. Most people don’t think to look there for bargains such as coolers. One of our other coolers is from Giant, a grocery store chain here. I stalked that cooler I got from Giant for weeks. I kept checking to see how much on sale it was each week when we went to the grocery store. When it got to the price I wanted to pay, I finally got it. So keep in mind that grocery stores are another place that has to clear out their summer stock to get the next season of items and they reduce it pretty fast.
A more recent example … two weeks ago I bought my kids balls at Harris Teeter. They were 75% off. So they got kick balls for now. I also got some foam balls I will save for their stockings. Last year, we got little plastic play tables at Harris Teeter on the end of summer clearance!
Everyone knows the department stores are clearing out their summer clothes so if you need some t-shirts, start watching the sale ads for when you can hit a sale and use a coupon to get the best deals!
The last place I am going to suggest for end of summer bargains is the home improvement store. They are clearing out their summer items too. For the home improvement stores this includes, grills, mowers, and patio sets. We got a little bistro set from Home Depot two years ago at their end of summer sale when it was 75% off. It is still super cute on our front porch!
Did I miss your favorite place for end of summer bargains? If so, tell me where you shop and what you buy! Maybe I do need something and just don’t know it yet!

Thank you for the tip on hitting the home improvemen stores for end-of-season bargains! I always shop the seasonal clothing sales, but never even thought of looking for seasonal discounts on home and garden items! Live and learn. 😉

Thanks for all the great tips — I never even thought about looking for coolers on sale this time of year, but I'm going to follow that advice! I also like to look in the home decor sections of stores like Target at the end of summer to find discounts on items like tablecloths, sheets, and towels.
