We all know what the “bad” mail is … the bills that show up in our mailbox monthly.
“Good” mail seems to change as you as age though. I remember as a child that any mail that had MY name on it was good mail. When you don’t get mail, getting mail is fun. It is generally a magazine or a letter or a birthday card, that hopefully had money it! All of that is still “good” mail but now “good” mail is also those rebate checks I am waiting for, coupons signed up to get, the Val-Pac, or some of my bargain catalogs.
This week has been a “good” mail week.
Tuesday: My favorite bargain catalog, The Lakeside Collection, came in the mail. (http://www.lakesidecollection.com/) This catalog saves us major money during the holiday season. I love just looking through this catalog and see how much cheaper items are in it than I have seen in the stores or on TV!
I got a $1 off/one package of Charmin toilet paper coupon. Harris Teeter keeps putting Charmin on sale plus having e-VIC specials on top of the sale. TIP: You can still use a Manufacturer’s Coupon in addition to the Harris Teeter sale and E-VIC Special to make those items an even better deal. I see some cheap toilet paper in our future and with an almost 3 year old and a 19 month who sometimes forget to limit their toilet paper usage, we can use that around here! We have learned to not be as brand loyal as some of our expenses change. We used to just buy one brand of toilet paper but now we buy whatever brand is on sale AND I have a coupon for!
Wednesday: I got my free Friday chocolate coupon (apply here on Fridays: http://realchocolate.com/). This my third free chocolate coupon from this offer! I should have one more, sadly my last though, on the way!
I also go my coupon books I won from MrsShopswell.com’s blog giveaway (http://www.mrsshopswell.com/) that day. That was a hard one to explain to my husband but he was excited to see some of the coupons in the inserts.
Today: A coveted rebate check came from Lowe’s! We have learned to only buy paint when it is on sale. TIP: Paint generally only goes sale through rebates and on holiday weekends. This is the rebate check from the blue and green paint we bought for little guy’s nursery. I am still waiting on the primer rebate check so that will be another “good” mail day yet to come!
So while “good” mail days are a little harder to come by since you have to “work” for most of them, they are a really nice treat when they do happen!
