Thanks to the Collective Bias® Social Fabric® Community for making this Arm & Hammer Spinbrush Champion for Kids post possible. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Showing our children how to love their neighbors is a major focus for us as we struggle to raise them with good values. The hard part is always finding the balance between paying bills and putting food in our bellies and being sure to help others do the same. That’s why we love when we get opportunities that help us do both. We were afforded the opportunity to head out to Walmart and purchase the Arm & Hammer Spinbrush as part of a Champion for Kids SIMPLE Service Project. Champion for Kids is challenging all of us to “Spin Into Action” to help out those less fortunate by donating fun children’s items (books, games, blankets, toothbrushes, etc.) to local shelters, hospitals, and other organizations. To help answer the call, if you report your project to Champions for Kids during July 2013, Spinbrush will match your donation up to 1,000 total Tooth Tunes musical toothbrushes.
For our project, we chose an event that our church holds each year called Pampering Day. The church comes together to give a spa day to low income ladies who might not otherwise get a day to just feel special. As part of that event, the members of the church pitch in to create bags for the ladies to bring home. This is where our donation comes in. We served 50 ladies last year and expect to reach out to more this year. We put together bags for each of these ladies to take home after the event. These bags include soaps, shampoos, toothbrushes, and other items for the ladies and for their kids. The coolest part of this project was how involved our kids got to be. As we start our donation drive, the girls decided to help make a donation box. We didn’t fill the girls box up all the way, but we came close. Just a little more room for others to help serve, right?
Our kids have used both the Arm & Hammer Spinbrush and the Arm & Hammer Tooth Tunes musical toothbrush. They love them and it really makes brushing fun for the kids. Hopefully, the kids that we help with this donation will feel the same way.
How do you make brushing fun for your kids? How do you teach them to show love for their neighbors?
