She CUT her hair … it was not a good moment for me

October 19, 2012 By Beth 9 Comments

Sophie cut her hair … again. She cut her own hair back in the summer and we had a LONG talk about cutting our hair. She took about two inches off when she cut her hair. We went and got her a haircut and the hairdresser styled it nice.

Earlier this week, I let Sophie help me with a Girl Scout Daisy project cutting pieces of paper for our craft. I reminded her to NOT cut her hair.  It was this day …

She had her hair in a headband that day so I didn’t notice until the next day that she had cut her hair to be this …

OMG … I lost it. I was so mad. I am still so upset over this. She cut her hair so it wasn’t in her face. Great logic but that is why she doesn’t have bangs … I refuse to have the bangs in her face. So now we are styling hair like this  for what … the next year?

I think I could still cry. I know hair grows back but WHY?!?!  Anyone know a brand that needs some hair clip promotion? See, I am trying to be positive about this experience!

My daughter Aldo cut her hair twice when she was little. Once she cut the right side back all the way to thebas of her skull and she had to get a very very short pixie cut. I was pretty upset. But she’s 12 now and only did this twice in her life.

My daughter has cut her hair twice when she was younger, the second time she did it, she came up to me and said look mommy i made myself pretty and she had cut her bangs and half her side off, i almost started crying, she has beautiful golden curly hair, instead in a shaky voice i told her she does look beautiful and maybe we should go somewhere she can get the rest of her hair beautiful too, i literally wanted to go into my room and cry into my pillow but her face….. after she had cut her hair was so precious, i really, really had to hide my emotions and be calm, lol, now when she wants her hair cut, she asks to take her to a salon, whewwww!!!

Those bangs are so cute. When I was younger I did the same thing.

Oh my goodness! Luckily my daughters never did that when they were younger. I hope my grandsons don’t either. Hopefully it’s a girl thing! 😉

hehe.. my little sister was so proud of her when she tried it. It was quite a job for my mom to make it semi-presentable.

My daughter cut her hair… several times as a little one. I am still not sure how she managed to get the scissors the one time and the other? She used safety scissors and basically “sawed” off her hair. I can’t really talk though because I remember chopping off my bangs, just like your daughter when I was little!
