Cirque du Soleil – Alegria

So I have this new love … it is Cirque du Soleil shows. It is true. Once you see one, you have to see more. No choice. You long to see the others. So when I heard Cirque du Soleil was coming to town with Alegria, I had to go. It wasn’t as easy as it wasn’t just me and my mom in Orlando. Little dude had to skip his Little Gym class. I begged (OK, it didn’t really take begging) my mom to come out to watch the kids. I threw it on my husband that we were having a date night … he didn’t complain either so we were on to see Alegria in town!

So the singing in French during the show is amazing, just amazing. The White Singer was amazing. Her dress was funky but beautiful and her voice was just amazing. My husband can speak some French so I kept annoying him asking if he could understand what she was singing. He told me got about every third word!
One of my FAVORITE parts of the show was the musicians. They walked around the front during the start of the show but then sat at the back the stage the whole show. The soundtrack was amazing. I already told my husband it is on my wish list. I could listen to that all day … even not knowing an ounce of French!

All of the costumes in the Alegria were just as funky and wonderful as I expected. The bird feel to the event was crazy but so cool. The old bird costumes reminded me of a children’s show … we watch a lot of those these days. I love the colors and was honestly amazed they could even walk in those costumes!!
While the acts such as the trampoline act was one of my favorites and I wish I could jump on a trampoline like that …

I think the best I could would be qualify for one of the clown roles. They were amazing in their own right and got some great laughs!!

So if you are in Charlottesville or on their tour route, check out Cirque du Soleil – Alegria. You will be in for an evening that you will remember for a long, long time!!
