It is Mamavation Monday time again!Last week, I got in no bike rides but I did a heck of a lot of walking in Philly for whatever that is worth. I noticed I am wearing the bottoms off on my Exer-Walk shoes!
Last week, I decided to try to watch what I ate this past week. I really watched EVERYTHING I ate. I tried to eat vegan 1-2 meals a day. Sometimes vegetarian was thrown in there too. I wasn’t home on Friday so I had to weigh in a day early. So as of last Thursday, I was back down 3 lbs! YAY! Now I probably blew that in Philly with the eating we did but making the insane amount of walking paid off? I don’t know. As soon as I got home yesterday, I repacked my bag and left again. I am on travel until late Tuesday night. I decided I am tired of not being home and will drive home late instead of spending another evening away from home. Besides, I am missing my babies!!!
I am happy to see where this is taking me. It has really changed how I pick what I eat. If I eat a lot of something at one meal, I take that in account for the day and I know I didn’t do that before I started this effort. (Like yesterday night when I got in town, I had a horrible for me dinner at one of my favorite local restaurants. It was worth it but I felt I didn’t have to eat again for three days after that! I know I will be going as light as I can on the eating today.)
Do you have a favorite vegan or vegetarian recipe? If so, share with me! I have been eying some pumpkin ones that I want to try as I LOVE pumpkin and well it is fall time … or just about!

I have a ton of recipes that are veggie/vegan on my blog. I really like the last one – kimchi shrimp fried quinoa. Great job on the weight loss!

Wow, way to go on 3 lbs! Walking is probably better than bike riding (not sure, just assuming) When I ride a bike I find my self gliding along instead of pedaling sometimes. I LOVE pumpkin as well, pumpkin anything!! I am applying for Mamavation this next campaign! Can't wait! 😉

Renee – I will be looking at recipes tonight!
Kimberly – good luck and my bike is stationary so no gliding! =P

Great loss this week! Traveling is rough on healthy living, but you'll slide back into the good habits once the travels are over. I hate being away from home so much too!
I love making a quinoa pilaf with quinoa & sauteed veggies. You could add chick peas in there for some protein too.
Have a great week!

I am a pumpkin fiend!!! Friends and I have talked about throwing a pumpkin potluck. It is one of the best times of year only rivaled by peach season. Anyway I have a vegan black-bean quinoa dish I make and will post a recipe soon since I mention it so much. Look up any grain/legume salad recipes. Congrats for being down three pounds and for walking like a mad woman while away from home.

I love pumpkin but haven't done much cooking with it. Let me know if you come across any that are worth trying! Congrats on 3 pounds down!

I love veggie chili but i don't really cook so i don't have a recipe. Quinoa is yummy but really gross if you don't cook it right. My sister makes it really well, I'll ask her for a recipe.
Want to try Kia's black bean and quinoa! YUM!! Sounds like you're doing well. Acknowledge your victories!!

Great job with the weight loss! Way to walk off the pounds!! Wish I had a pumpkin recipe to share. I tried one last fall…major fail on my part. I thought it was OK, Hubby and kids hated it. I may have to try out some pumpkin chili to see if it hides the pumpkin better.
