Each year I make several of these Christmas Crispy Treats. I started stocking up Rice Crispy cereal and marshmallows the past couple of months when I had coupon/sale match-ups. Even without the coupon/sale match-ups, this is a very thrifty treat and gift idea!
Simply follow the traditional Crispy Treat recipe:
Melt 3 Tbsp of butter. Add one of bag of marshmallows and stir until your arm is going to fall off … I mean until melted. Add green food coloring. Add 6 cups of Rice Crispy cereals. Spray your pan and add your crispy treats to the pan.
For a wreath: Use your bunt pan! Add some red icing or red gel icing to decorate your wreath. You can add red hots or red M&Ms to add berries to your wreath. Fill the middle with red and green M&Ms or another candy of your choice.
That was my original version of this recipe. I now have a great Christmas tree bunt pan that I bought super cheap after Christmas several years ago. So now I use this pan. I still fill the middle with M&Ms but I decorate with my trees with whatever I have around. The one in this picture has yellow gel icing “stars” and then sprinkles on the trees as decorations.
That’s it. This is a super gift to give to those who are there for you all year long. This pictured Christmas tree treat is on its way to the mechanic shop that we use and trust with our cars tomorrow morning!
Enjoy! Do you have a simple recipe that you use as a Christmas gift? Leave me a comment and let me know what it is. If it is great. I will give you a post about it in the next week!
